Music superstar Pink recently released her newest album, titled Try This. It is the follow-up to her smash album Missundaztood, which sold over ten million copies worldwide and featured the hit songs “Get the Party Started,” “Just Like a Pill,” and “Don’t Let Me Get Me.”
Try This is an exciting album, because it shows that Pink has truly become a rock star. She continues to change from the R&B singer she was when her first album came out 3 years ago. Read on to learn more about her evolution.

Dialog

When Pink released her first album, Can’t Take Me Home, it seemed that she was most interested in hip-hop and R&B music. However, on her second album she mixed in some rock&roll songs, three of which became big hits. Now, on her third album, almost all the songs are rock. “It’s not a party record that’s for sure. It’s got party sounds but it’s not as heavy and painful as the last one was. It’s fun, it’s good stuff,” says Pink (BBC Newsround).
The first single from Try This is called “Trouble.” Check out some of the lyrics:
No attorneys
To plead my case
No orbits
To send me into outta space
And my fingers
Are bejeweled
With diamonds and gold
But that ain’t gonna help me now
I’m trouble
Yeah trouble now
I’m trouble ya’ll
I disturb my town

In the song, Pink is saying that people should be careful around her, because she often causes problems.

Discussion

I didn’t really like Pink’s first album. I thought there were two good songs on it, but the rest didn’t do anything for me. Her second album was amazing. I thought it was one of the best albums of the year. I just started listening to Try This last week, and I think it’s great. It doesn’t have as many surefire hit songs as Missundaztood, but I do like every song on the album. I definitely recommend that you give it a try!
Rock on,
Migs
