These days, it’s hard to find time to spend in the great outdoors. Most people have to work or go to school inside of a building. But sometimes, one needs to leave the city and breathe some fresh air. Camping is a great way to get away from all the noise of daily life.

One of the best things about camping is that one can do it anywhere. For people who like the beach, one can simply set up a tent right on the sand. Some people like the mountains more and might even camp in the snow. Many people like camping because it is easier to see the stars away from city lights. Camping lets people take a break from normal life.

Jessica is excited to camp with her friends this summer. But does Julie like camping? Find out more in today’s English lesson about sleeping outside.

Jessica:  So, Julie…

Julie:  Yes?

Jessica:  I just started to get all of my plans together to go camping this summer. And I am so excited to get back outdoors, and watch the sunset and the sunrise when it’s not freezing cold outside.

Julie:  Do you camp a lot?

Jessica:  I do. Not as much as I would like to, but I do a big camping trip every year. And all of our friends get together with our camping gear, and our backpacks and sleeping bags. It’s wonderful.

Julie:  Do you go the whole nine yards and build a campfire and roast s’mores and all that?

Jessica:   Absolutely. I don’t think you can go camping without s’mores. But until then I’ve just been hiking, and trying to enjoy nature without the overnight camping aspect. Do you like to go camping?

Julie:  I love camping. I camp at every opportunity that I have. But it’s hard because I work several jobs and it’s hard to carve out that time to get outside. But I do love it. It’s very therapeutic.

Jessica is planning on going camping this summer. Every year, she and her friends like to get their sleeping bags and find somewhere new to sleep outside. She likes to eat s’mores, and thinks that no camping trip is complete without them.

Julie is sad she doesn’t have much time for camping. She says it is hard to work multiple jobs and still be able to camp. She finds camping therapeutic, and goes whenever she can.

Do you like camping? Where is your favorite place to go?

now its time for laughing :)))

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson went on a camping trip. As they lay down for the night, Holmes said:” Watson, look up into the sky and tell me what you see?”

Watson said, “I see millions and millions of stars.” Holmes: “And what does that tell you?” Watson: “Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Theologically, it tells me that God is great and that we are small and insignificant. Meteorogically, it tells me that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.

What does it tell you?” Holmes: “Somebody stole our tent.”

Today I went camping of sorts. My little nephew likes “setting up a tent” using chairs and blankets.

Bad English leads to misunderstanding. I’ve noticed ola33’s deleted comments. All I wanted to say was either “it is said it IS a good city” or “they said it WAS a good city.” I misused Past Indefinite and didn’t mean “isn’t a good city anymore” :(

my lovely  dear crazyshadw its my pleasure that you love my house and dishes. So anytime you like to visit me your welcome all the time and for the idea of Camping lets use our imagination and  image the roof of my house as a forest or a nice nature place to camping. Lets sit around the fire and make some barbecue  and  try the s’mores its look nice. But you know Iam afraid from one thing if the neighbors smell the smoke they will think that my house is in fire and imagine what will happen :-P ,but really its a good idea lets do it .

The love for camping may change with age. At least, it’s my case. When I was a child, I love camping. Especially camping outdoor, you can get close to the nature, listen to the chirping of crickets, look at the shining of fireflies and watch the sparkling stars in the deep dark and quiet sky. It’s all super cool for an urban child. But, when I grew up, camping become trouble, and sometimes annoyed. It is not so much a trouble for me than my wife is, when we go camping. The main complaint from my wife is that she has to walk all the way around to use washroom and the use of washroom at camping is never being easy. It’s filthy, smelling and the worst part, is far out in the middle of the wood. So, every time, when she has the urge, I have to accompany her to washroom, no matter how sleepy I am. Although, most washrooms are in camping area, they still remain inconvenient. And the other thing about camping is that it has neither privacy nor security. All in all, we have changed the way we spend vacation. These days, we make a reservation for either motel or commercial hotel, instead. My wife prefers commercial hotel to motel. But that is another story. It seems my wife is really a pin in the ass but this one too, is another story.

Hi friends, do you really like camping so much?

As for me, “return to the nature”(c) means swarm of flies and mosquitoes, hot days and cold nights, impossibility of taking a shower. And, of course, fishing and drinking, or at first drinking (I told that story on this site before, you know.)))

Maybe I’m wrong.

I’d like to go camping for, let’s say, two days. But it’s not easy to carve out that time to spend in the great outdoors.

Camping is return to the nature, modern life dispossess people from human nature, so when we go camping, we feel better and it’s very therapeutic for us, but I don’t like 2 or 3 days or more being in nature, A few hours from morning to night is enough for me.

ola33, maybe it is strange, but I’ve never been to the capital :(

But I’d rather go there than go camping. I like cities more than nature.

PS It is said Kiyev was a good city to live in.

I love camping but for my bad luke I didnt experient it befor it look so fun. I went to many nice places and spend the whole day there but at night I didn’t dare because I have a big imagination about insect and wild animales.

But really really I wanna go camping . Sitting around the fire with friends. Drinking a hot chocolate or coffee, eating s’mores and if there is a barbecue wooow that will be great But what If the animles smell the food I dont want to imagine what will happen it will transfer to a scary movie. So I think camping is therapeutic coz it give us a break form our usually life. We can relax form the stress of the work and life. Especially if the place as julito1 said “in the wilderness  with  a river or creek at your side” or under a sakura tree that will be so sweet.

I was waiting to see dose anyone else have my opinipn about camping till I send my comment!

Yes I love nature but sleeping outdoor is not my desire!

Besides of hygienic issues and also insects and wild animals, I dont feel safe if I sleep in woods or mountsins!

Only camping in our own yard like when I was a kid is acceptable to me! :-p

Oh camping. I dream about camping every year but something comes up and I cancel. I am just in love with night sky but living in a light polluted city hinder me enjoying night sky. I want to go somewhere with no lights and with a very dry air. Like Atacama Desert in Chile. Then I’ll have the clearest sky and enjoy the amazing night with my love alone :)
