Intro

1. Learn Vocabulary - Learn some new vocabulary before you start the lesson.

2. Read and Prepare - Read the introduction and prepare to hear the audio.

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather the past few days, so I’ve been taking a lot of time to relax. For me, the best way to relax is listen to some good, mellow music. The albums I’ve been listening to are more of my absolute favorites. If you’re in the mood to slow down and take some time away from your stressful day, listen to one of these great albums.

Dialog

1. Study - Read the dialog again to see how the vocab words are used.

David Gray/White Ladder
You’ve probably heard David Gray’s most famous song, “Babylon.” It’s taken the world by storm, and established David Gray as one of the best known singer-songwriters on the planet. “Babylon” is a beautifully crafted song, and it’s reflective of the rest of this album, which is excellent from start to finish.
Ben Harper/Burn to Shine
Ben Harper made a name for himself by giving inspiring performances at small shows around the United States. I’ve seen him perform live a number of times, and each concert has been a unique and memorable experience. Burn to Shine is just one of five Harper albums that I love, and it’s the one I’ve been listening to a lot lately.
Coldplay/Parachutes
Coldplay is a new band, so Parachutes is their only album. Either they are very lucky, or they’re just incredibly good. Listening to a debut album this outstanding makes me very excited about the future. I like Parachutes so much that I often play it repeatedly for 3-4 hours. That might sound crazy, but you won’t think so when hear it.

Discussion

Music is one of the best parts of my life. I really don’t think I could live without it. I think I’m probably listening to music for more hours of the day than I’m not. I even sleep with music playing! So, I hope I can help you enjoy some of the greatest music out there.
I’ll be back next week with more great music!
