When something costs an arm and a leg, it is very expensive. A house in Tokyo costs an arm and a leg. A house in Montana does not.

In the example above, Carsten Norgaard is saying that it would have been too expensive to film Alien vs Predator in the U.S. Many Hollywood movies are filmed outside of the U.S. because they cost an arm and a leg to film in America.

It cost a lot of money.........a big outlay. Also saying: A rib of the body!!! Saying in the story of Creation . Gen.2 that a woman was made of one of Adams'ribs. In former years the word "rib" got used for a woman.

Outrageously priced item which has the value what you couldn’t replace it either with your arm in leg for that matter both of them. What value do you put on your limbs?
